초록

본 논문은 한마음선원의 국내외 전법 현황과 전법 토대 그리고 전법의 실천 기술과 그 방안을 다룬다. 한마음선원은 종교의 사회적 영향력이나 불교 인구와 출가자가 감소하고 있음에도 불구하고 본원과 국내 지원 20곳, 국외 지원 9곳에서 다양한 포교 활동을 진행하고 있다. 대행의 전법사상은 생애와 사상을 담고 있는 『한마음요전』에 잘 드러나 있다. 부드럽고 자애롭고 경험과 수행을 지도하고 찾아가서 문제를 해결해주는 전법을 실천하였다. 전법은 자원환경이 중요한데 인적, 물적 환경을 고려해야 한다. 또한 한마음선원의 강점과 기회를 살리고 약점이나 위기를 줄이는 전법을 마련하여야 한다. 전법은 실천 이론과 기술이 필요하며 전법 전문가 양성을 위해 전법 실천 기술 프로그램을 운영할 필요가 있다. 『한마음요전』을 활용한 하브루타 문답 훈련, 불교와 『한마음요전』, 일상생활 등의 스토리텔링 훈련을 제시하였다. 그리고 경전, 사상, 각종 인터넷 그림자료와 『한마음요전』에 나타난 내용의 그림화와 자료화를 구성하고 활용하고 실제적으로 설법 등으로 진행하는 그림 전법훈련, 불교 경전의 다양한 비유와 『한마음요전』의 다양한 비유를 활용하는 비유 전법훈련도 고려하였다. 아울러 신구의 삼업과 더불어 각종 행위 동작을 표현하는 행위 전법훈련을 제시하고 그 활용 방법을 예로 다루었다. 전법훈련에서는 삼보의 다이어그램, 한마음 관련 언어 훈련이 필요하다. 그 밖에 전법 자료를 구하는 훈련, 설법 교안을 데이터화하고 체계적인 반복훈련을 통해 전법 전문가 양성에 심혈을 기울여야 한다. 시간, 장소, 대상과 내용에 적합한 전법을 위해 온오프라인을 활용하고 전법 프로그램 개발과 전법사 양성, 전법 전문가 양성에 전법 실천 기술을 적용해야 한다. 그러면 한마음선원의 새로운 전법 도약이 가능할 것이다.

This study deals with the current state of Hanmaum Seonwon’s domestic and foreign dharma propagation, the basis of its propagation, and practical techniques and plans to propagate dharma. Despite the decline in Buddhism’s influence on society and decline in the number of Buddhists and monastics, Hanmaum Seonwon continues to carry out various propagation activities at its main monastery, 20 domestic branch centers, and 9 overseas branch centers. Daehaeng’s philosophy of dharma propagation is well expressed in Hanmaum yojeon (The Principles of Hanmaum), which records her life and thoughts. In order to propagate dharma she was gentle and benevolent, she guided the laity’s practice, and she visited followers with problems to help resolve them. Mobilizing diverse resources in propagating dharma could be important to us, therefore we should consider both the human and physical environment.

In addition, strategies for dharma propagation must be prepared to utilize the strengths and opportunities provided by Hanmaum Seonwon to minimize its weaknesses. Dharma propagation requires practical theories and techniques, so it is necessary to operate a dharma propagation practice technology program to nurture experts in propagation. As part of this program, I recommend Havruta dialogue training utilizing Hanmaum yojeon, and storytelling related to Buddhism, Hanmaum yojeon, and daily life.

In addition, I suggest other strategies that include: the training of picture dharma propagation by using diverse internet image resources and by depicting in images the content of Hanmaum yojeon. These images could then be embedded in appropriate places in dharma talks. I also recommend training in dharma propagation using metaphors. This uses diverse metaphors from Buddhist scriptures and Hanmaum yojeon. In addition, I suggest training in dharma propagation through action. This expresses action movements along with the three types of karmas accrued by word, thought, and deed, and their application methods. Dharma propagation training also requires diagrams of the Three Jewels and language training related to Hanmaum (One Mind). In addition, it is necessary to concentrate on cultivating experts in dharma propagation through training in obtaining propagation materials, transforming teaching plans into data, and systematic repetitive training. For dharma propagation to be suitable for time, place, subject and content, online and offline methods should be utilized, and dharma propagation practice techniques should be applied to the development of propagation programs, to the training of propagation personnel, and the to the training of propagation experts. Then it will be possible for Hanmaum Seonwon to make major progress in propagating dharma.
