초록
대행(大行, 1927~2012) 선사는 생명∙생각∙육신 등 삼합이 같이 한마음으로 돌아가는 것을 ‘주인공 원리’라고 하였다.
인간의 보편적인 구성 요소를 기반으로 하는 주인공 원리는 인간 중심의 원리론에 입각해 있다.
이 원리는 순위연동형 구조와 삼위일체형 구조로 구분할 수 있다.
순위연동형 구조는 삼합이 순서대로 연동하여 작용한다.
삼위일체형 구조는 세 요소 중 한 요소에 다른 요소들이 합쳐져서 일체로 된다.
주인공 원리는 관법의 근거이며 그 역할의 성격과 범위를 결정해 주고, 관법은 원리의 목표를 실현해주는 방편으로 작용한다.
주인공 원리와 주인공 관법의 상관 구조에서 믿음은 주인공을 믿는 것일 뿐만 아니라 주인공 원리를 믿는 것이다.
놓는다는 것은 주인공 원리에서 마음내기 이전에 놓는 것이고, 맡김은 현재 의식으로 생각해서 놓는 것이므로 주인공 원리에서 마음내기를 활용한다.
다만, 맡겨서 놓고 나면 무심으로 지켜보고 앞으로 나아가야 한다.
지켜보는 것은 마음내기 이전∙마음내기∙육신의 작용 등 주인공 원리의 모든 요소를 대상으로 삼기 때문에 그 적용 범위가 가장 넓다.
주인공 원리는 견성 또는 증명 여부에 관계없이 보편적으로 적용되지만, 대행선사는 견성을 독려하였다.
증명관은 주인공을 믿고 주인공만이 증명을 해줄 수 있다는 마음내기를 하면서 육신의 작용으로 실현되는 것을 보고 증명하는 수행법이다.
따라서 주인공 원리의 삼합을 활용하는 증명관은 그 원리에 부합한다.
주인공 원리의 관점에서 생활 중심의 주인공 관법과 수행 중심의 증명관은 상호 보완적으로 수행이 가능하다.
따라서 주인공 원리와 관법의 상관 구조로 볼 때, 대행 사상은 일원다관(一元多觀)의 선법(禪法)이다.
Seon Master Daehaeng (1927-2012) taught the principle of "Juingong," a concept that believes the three aspects of life (life, thought, and body) are controlled by the One Mind.
Based on certain universal aspects of human life, the Juingong principle is founded on human-centered principles.
The Juingong principle can be divided into two types: the orderly linkage structure and the trinity structure.
In the orderly linkage structure, the three elements work serially in order.
In the trinity structure, one of the three elements is combined with the other two to become one.
The Juingong principle is the basis of the practice of Contemplation and determines the nature and scope of its role, while the practice of Contemplation acts as a means to realize the goal of the Juingong principle.
In the correlation between the Juingong principle and entrustment, faith requires not only believing in the Juingong, but also believing in the Juingong principle.
Letting go means to let go before arousing the mind from the Juingong Principle, and entrusting means to let go by thinking about the matter at hand with the present consciousness, which requires arousing the mind through the Juingong principle.
However, after entrusting and letting go, one must observe how the matter at hand develops without conceptualizing, and then move forward.
This process of observing applies to all elements of the Juingong principle, including before arousing the mind, while arousing the mind, and the functions of the body, so its scope of application is pretty wide.
The Juingong principle is universally applicable, regardless of whether one has discovered their true nature or not, or whether one has validated their Juingong or not.
However, Seon Master Daehaeng encouraged devotees to seek their true nature.
Validating one's Juingong is a practice wherein one sees and proves what is realized through the actions of the physical body while believing in the Juingong and arousing the mind that only the Juingong can prove.
Therefore, validating one's Juingong—which requires applying the three elements of the Juingong principle—is in line with this principle.
From the perspective of the Juingong principle, the practice of entrusting to Juingong, which is life-centered, and validating one's Juingong, which is practice-centered, can be practiced in a complementary manner.
Therefore, considering the correlation between the Juingong principle and entrustment, Daehaeng Seon is a Seon teaching with a single origin and multiple levels' practice of contemplation.
